Local Dentist Offers First FDA Approved Laser Treatment for Gum Disease
(LEXINGTON, MA October 2006) - Dr. Fawn Rosenberg of Lexington is one of the first dentists in the country to be fully trained and licensed to perform Laser Periodontal Therapy, an FDA cleared and patented laser gum therapy that gentle reduces the pain and recovery time associated with traditional gum surgery. Dr. Rosenberg is also one of the first dentists using the first ever digital dental laser in the U.S. marketplace for Laser Assisted Gum Surgery.
Dr. Rosenberg commented, "The Periolase is the first and only laser to receive FDA clearance for a patented periodontal procedure called Laser Periodontal Therapy (LPT) and cleared to market LPT to decrease the severity of periodontal disease; reduce bleeding from the gums; reduce the depth of periodontal pockets; increase the level of tissue attachment; and lessen loose teeth."
The Periolase is the most recent addition to the lasers in Dr. Rosenberg's practice. She has been using dental lasers for several years to provide effective and minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment for dental decay.
"The new FDA approval proves the safe and successful use of this technology for the treatment of periodontal disease without scalpels or sutures," remarked Dr. Rosenberg.
Meanwhile, Lloyd V. Tilt, DDS, MS, a practicing periodontist for over 23 years in Ogden Utah points out: "This technique has virtually replaced osseous [traditional blade and bone] surgery for the treatment of periodontitis in my office. Superior clinical results, with a minimally invasive, nontraumatic procedure. Predictable results time after time. Patients returning for post-ops with smiles on their faces. Patients referring friends for care."
Dr. Rosenberg has a full-time private practice in Lexington, Massachusetts and has received the Academy of General Dentistry's prestigious Fellowship Award. Her family practice provides a unique state of the art professional environment, employing a combination of amenities resulting in a practice that she likes to call "spa dentistry." Says Dr. Rosenberg: "Our patients come to us to not only look their best, but to feel their best. During treatment they can choose from hundreds of movies to watch on our virtual reality glasses, paraffin wax treatments for softer hands and even a back massage from our specially equipped dental chairs. It is our goal to make you smile while enhancing your smile." In addition, Dr. Rosenberg offers nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation for her more anxious patients.
